The Gospel is the good news, about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, through which He saved us from our sins. We are not to walk in shame, because God has taken away our guilt (which Jesus paid for on the cross) and clothed us with the righteousness of Christ. Let's thus acknowledge our sinful nature, and then (with gratitude) accept this free gift of salvation from God.
