The message of the church is Christ crucified, the one who died for our sins and was raised from the dead. These things have changed lives through the centuries. How do we help people get an honest hearing of the gospel in this place? That's where the power to save and change lives really exists. The good news of Jesus has empowered many people by the Spirit of God to live as Jesus lived. There's some mystery in the power of the cross and what happened there that changes us in the inner heart, so we can be servants and not be afraid regardless of the circumstances. This is not something we do ourselves, but instead it's something that God does in us, when we come to the cross openly.
